Shanghai roll out of “1911″. Of course, the media focused on Jackie Chan’s report of a deleted sexy scene with Li Bingbing. Jaycee Chan, when asked, said that he did not know about it but, if true, he hoped that an extended DVD edition might contain it. Director Zhang Li explained that the scene(s) were deleted as the film was a serious, historical subject and did not fit. [So, naturally, it begs the question, why was it filmed in the first place? Oh, Jackie!] Later, the always stingy with praise Jackie Chan rated his son’s performance as only 20/100. When asked by reporters whether someday Jaycee might be successful and copy the father-son duo Patrick Tse and Nicholas Tse, Jackie immediately dismissed it and said never in this lifetime.

According to recent reports from the Hong Kong media, Gillian had taken a liking to Taiwanese singer Owodog — member of pop quartet Lollipop F — supposedly because he resembled her former lover Edison Chen. There were also rumours that Gillian was actively courting the singer.

“For me, exceeding the time limit is just an excuse to shut down the TV program, and there would have been other excuses even if the TV station did not make the shows that long,” said Jin Yong, a researcher at the Communication University of China.

Hunan Satellite Television, which produces Super Girl, has agreed to follow the broadcast regulator’s ruling to remove the show and replace it with public service programming, the newspaper quoted deputy editor-in-chief Li Hao as saying.

(Aug.21) Tang Wei’s appearance at Tengchong airport drew screams of recognition whereby the actress had to hastily don  her sunglasses.

Tang Wei will reportedly play Donnie Yen’s wife in Peter Chan’s adaptation of the One-Armed Swordsman film, Wu Xia. The leads arrived early in Tengchong County to acclimate themselves to highlands high altitude atmosphere which is 3000m above sea level. Peter Chan selected Tengchong as a location because of the beautiful scenery; there are terraces, ancient villages, waterfalls consistent with the ‘retreat’ concept of the film.  Despite the rainy season not quite at an end, filming is to begin in September because Donnie Yen’s schedule is full with Monkey King scheduled to begin shooting in December. During an interview at the Hong Kong Film Awards, Peter Chan said Wu Xia is about a sword master, played by Donnie Yen, in seclusion for years. Detective Takeshi Kaneshiro is curious and his scepticism leads to trouble. Chan said Wu Xia will combine action, science, medicine and special effects. Later, Ronald Cheng’s company, Gold Typhoon, issued a statement/transcript of Ronald’s remarks:

1. Thank you for attending the Ronald Cheng and Charlene Choi press conference.

2. Marriage is a fact, in 2006 we are very happy to make this decision. Also the support of both parents in LA. Register a marriage, two people have emotions and attitude toward marriage, unnecessary open because the two sides agreed to approach.

3. Has been speculation on bilateral relations and the constant false reports, so we feel the need to explain.

4. We are very happy the past few years of marriage, after a period of time to grow and deepen our mutual understanding, felt they were breaking up, the future will be better on both sides. Therefore, to announce that we have recently split is a very rational decision, but also a fact. However, there is no third party.

5. Divorce must be the question everyone will ask. We will follow all the legal procedures that we will need to make.

6. Although we make not a husband and wife, but we had a very happy time, even more desire to be eternal friend, hope everyone will give us some space, thank you. (Sina)
